For 30 years the Amsterdam-based production company IJswater Films (‘Icewater Films’) has been producing high-quality authentic feature films, high-end TV drama, documentaries, and short films by both new and established national and international talent for an adult and young audience. Many projects are co-produced internationally and have been selected for international film festivals and co-production markets, such as Cannes (Semaine de la Critique, L’Atelier, ACID), Berlin (Generation), San Sebastián, Austin, Rotterdam (Cinemart, Bright Future), Rome Film Fest, Malmö, Chicago, Valladolid, Leeds, Leuven, Les Arcs, Venice (Orizzonti, Venice Production Bridge/Gap-Financing Market), Locarno (Pardi di Domani), Goa, Tribeca, and Toronto (TIFF, Intl Financing Forum). Several productions have also been nominated and awarded prizes at home and abroad, including various Dutch Academy Awards and Cinekid Golden Lions, two International Emmy Awards, the Berlinale Golden- and Crystal Bear, Japan Prizes, Prix Geneva Europe Script Award, Golden Globe Nomination, FIPA D'Or, FIPA D'Argent, and the New Directors Award at the San Sebastián Film Festival. The IJswater team consists of founder/producer Marc Bary, producer Nicky Onstenk, junior producer Zoë Niezen, and project coordinator Bregje de Boer.
