Filming of LOST SON almost finished!

The filming of the feature film LOST SON is almost finished. The film, directed by Edson da Conceicao and written by Philip Delmaar, was shot in Rotterdam.

De lead roles are played by Mike Libanon, Manoushka Zeegelaar Breeveld, Yassine El Ouardi and Yannick Jozefzoon.

Lost Son is produced by IJswater Films in co-production with the NTR and Caviar.

WINSTON (Mike Libanon) has always had a difficult relationship with his son JAYDEN (played by Yannick Jozefzoon). When Jayden is the victim of an armed robbery, Winston's world is turned upside down. Together with his ex-wife HELENA (a role by Manoushka Zeegelaar Breedeveld), he goes on a search for justice and he puts all his focus on TALIB (Yassine el Ouardi), a possible suspect. What starts as a search for revenge, transforms into an emotional journey filled with unexpected twists. 

Paradiso Filmed Entertainment will release the film in cinemas in 2016.

Mike Libanon (Winston) in Lost Son

Edson da Conceicao graduated from the Netherlands Film Academy in 2019. His graduation film PORFOTTO, was nominated for the Student Academy Award. After his short film THE LAST RIDE, Edson was co-director of the successful series RAMPVLUCHT, broadcast on NPO1 in 2022. This poignant series won the Golden Calf for Best Drama Series. Edson has since directed DE STERFSHOW for Videoland (Silver Krulstraat nomination) and the TV movie PARIAH (Fantaspoa IFF nomination, Golden Calf nomination best leading role for Emanuel Ohene Boafo). Raised in the Rotterdam district of Spangen and with an enormous fascination for personal stories, Edson always tries to capture the authenticity in his characters.

Lost Son was written by Philip Delmaar, previously responsible for the screenplays of EL HOUB (winnaar Gouden Kalf Beste Scenario in 2023), BOY 7, PARIAH and DAYLIGHT.

Lead actor Mike Lebanon has been active in the acting industry for over thirty years now. He is known to the general public as a series regular on the successful series OOGAPPELS (awarded the Golden Televizier Ring). He has also appeared in the films IN REAL LIFE (winner of two Golden Calves), EN ROUTE (Golden Calf Best Short Film, Berlinale nomination) and drama series such as VAN DER VALK, UNSOLVED, PARELS & ZWIJNEN, DE MAATSCHAP and FLIKKEN ROTTERDAM.

Manoushka Zeegelaar Breeveld has appeared in films like WHITE FLASH (Opening Film of the 2024 Dutch Film Festival), ABOUT THAT LIFE (winner of two Golden Calves), BON BINI HOLLAND (Golden Calf Audience Award) and SONNY BOY. She also starred in series such as NEMESIS, RAMPVLUCHT (Golden Calf Best TV Drama) and DIRTY LINES, and in theatre productions such as DE PLANTAGE VAN ONZE GEZINSOUDEREN, WOISKI VS. WOISKI, DE GLIPHOEVE and STEPPING STONES.

Yannick Jozefzoon was named Shooting Star at Berlinale 2023 and has appeared in films like FEMI (Golden Calf Nomination Best Leading Role), TOM ADELAAR (Golden Calf Nomination Best Actor TV Drama), IN BLUE (winner of three Golden Calves) and in series such as SANTOS (Golden Calf Best TV Drama) and GOOISCHE VROUWEN (2024).

Yassine El Ouardi is a recently graduated talent from Amsterdam's Drama and Contemporary Music Theatre (ATKA). His role in Lost Son is his first big feature film role. He previously appeared in TV series such as THE LUDWIGS, FLIKKEN ROTTERDAM and HIGH FLYERS.

Lost Son is produced by Nicky Onstenk and Marc Bary of the successful and award-winning Amsterdam production company IJswater Films (THE MAN FROM ROME, LÁ ÚLTIMA PRIMAVERA, IN BLUE, PROJECT HERBERT) in co-production with the Dutch public broadcaster NTR and Robin Kerremans of the Belgian production company Caviar (SOUND OF METAL, WAR PONY, REBEL, THE FORGOTTEN BATTLE) and is supported by the Dutch Film Fund, CoBO and the Belgian Tax Shelter via Caviar Tax Shelter.
