The world of the introverted but fiery Esra (9) is turned upside down. Her father became disabled in a motorcycle accident and as a result they moved. Struggling with his disability, he is no longer the father Esra knew him as. At Esra's new school, a lie escapes her that earns her positive attention, but the consequences of which she cannot foresee. The pain, anger and shame that bubble under the surface inevitably find their way to the top.
