In FREE FIGHT we tell the story of JOES (22) and MATTHIAS (27). Two ambitious brothers and passionate practitioners of the Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) sport. However, the close bond between the boys is brought to a head when their mother MARGOT (52), who suffers from MS, dies. The resulting sadness brings the boys to an uneven tipping point in one of the most important phases of their careers. The rehabilitation nurse ROOS (22), the only remnant of their mother's world, is an important role in this. While Joes tries to face his emotions with her help, his older brother Matthias hardens in his grief. His inability to deal with the situation puts their bond on edge, and in the build-up to what should be the most important match for them together, they drift further apart than ever before.
