The Man from Rome

The skeptical investigative priest Filippo (37) is sent by the Vatican to a Limburg border village to examine a weeping statue of Mary. Determined to debunk the statue, he encounters the grim village community, deeply traumatized and clinging to their miracle. Drawn to and unsettled by the silent Térèse (19) who discovered the tears, Filippo becomes entangled in the village's sorrow and a series of seemingly miraculous events that undermine his certainty about his calling as a priest and as a human being.
