Alex grows up in his parents’ flan shop in a village in Limburg. When the economy collapses, his parents decide that there is no future for him there. And so Alex goes to Amsterdam to study economics. What he doesn’t know is that fate has an altogether different destiny in store for him. Once he is in the big city, he finds himself in a strange road trip past special places in which he meets peculiar people. His attempts to reach his new lodgings are interrupted by his efforts to get hold of blonde Lotte; a girl that makes his heart beat faster, but that also keeps on stealing his belongings. The more time begins to press, the further he seems to stray from his goal. Or is he getting closer to it?
