This afternoon, the Kplus Children’s Jury of the 45th Generation Awards at Berlinale – Berlin International Film Festival presented the Crystal Bear to the short fiction film Spotless. On behalf of all makers, director Emma Branderhorst accepted this main prize for the best short (youth) film 2022 in Berlin.

Earlier this week, Spotless had its international premiere at Haus der Kulturen der Welt (HKW) in the presence of director Emma Branderhorst, lead actress Alicia Prinsen and producer Nicky Onstenk (IJswater Films).

Spotless is about menstrual poverty, a much bigger (inter)national problem than most people realize. Last year, the film premiered at the Netherlands Film Festival (Nomination Debut Film) and won the Best Short Dutch Film award at Cinekid Film Festival 2021.

Thanks to See NL, Netherlands Film Fund, Amsterdams Fund for the Arts and all the other suporters!
