De coproductie ELLEKTRA is een moderne tragikomedie van Rudolf Mestdagh geworden, geproduceerd door Cosmo-Kino uit Brussel in samenwerking met coproducenten IJswater Films en SchmidtzKatze FilmKollektiv (Duitsland).
De opnamen van de Belgisch/Duits/Nederlandse coproductie ELLEKTRA zijn afgerond en in de montage fase. Het melodrama en speelfilmdebuut van de Vlaming Rudolf Mestdagh met oa Gert Portael, Axelle Red, Serge Henri Valcke, Matthias Schoenaerts, Han Kerckhoffs, Manou Kersting en Ellen ten Damme in de cast is tijdens het Vlaams Festival in Gent oktober 2004 in première gegaan. De speelfilm wordt ondersteund door het Nederlandse en Vlaamse Filmfonds, het Duitse MDM fonds, VRT en Canal+. Kinepolis heeft de film met 6 kopieën in Belgische bioscopen uitgebracht. ELEKTRA heeft de Best Editing Award gewonnen op het Syracuse NYC Festival, en de Best European Entry Award bij het End of The Pier International Film Festival in de UK.
